Beginning Sunday, July 11, 2010, ReadfieldUnitedMethodistChurch will host evening services at this historic church located at the corner of Route 17 and Plains Road in Readfield, Maine. July 11, 2010The week starts with a burst of energy as musicians Mitch Thomas & Jeff Munson bring their Spirit powered original and traditional gospel music to the Jesse Lee Meeting House. This worship experience kicks off the 2010 Sunday Evening Series in this historic site, the oldest Methodist house of worship open in New England.
July 18, 2010The Jesse Lee Meeting Houses’ pristine acoustics frame folk and gospel music by Paul Bright and Stefan Pakulski in its historic walls. Worship will be led by Rev. Kristin White of the WayneCommunityChurch.
July 25, 2010Brett Rush, recording artist with Creative Soul Records, brings a message of hope. Rush shares his passion for the Kingdom in word and music. (for more information on this artist and church planter visit www.brettrushmusic.com/).
Aug. 1, 2010The exuberant vocal harmonies of Winsome Souls start the week right.All are invited to this gathering led by CoxMemorialUnitedMethodistChurch’s Ralph Cheney. Songs include their popular Riding to Heaven on God’s Railway, and Down in the River to Pray. The Meeting House’s pristine acoustics create a music box for praise with this gifted trio.
Aug. 8, 2010This week’s hymn sing celebrates the legacy of prolific hymn writer Fanny Cosby. We will be led by local poet Sally Joy & keyboard artist Bob Morang from Green St. United Methodist Church.
Aug. 15, 2010Original and traditional folk music by local favorites, Stan & Liz Keach will fill the Meeting House. Start your week right by getting into the spirit in this historic landmark.
Aug. 22, 2010Gospel Music and reflections of the W.I.S.E. team, recently returned from work in the schools and economic development of Kaoma, Zambia.Come learn what God is doing with these mission partners and leave energized by the Torsey ensemble, “Dr. Johnny” Twitchell, Rick Smith, and Susan Harrington Tedrick.
Aug. 29, 2010“Meet Francis Asbury,” as author Mark Leslie brings this key Revolutionary War era figure and towering pillar in America’s religious history to life. Worship will be led by Rev. Desmond Parker and musician Mary Parker of the MonmouthUnitedChurch and EastMonmouthUnitedMethodistChurches. .This is the last gathering in the 2010 season at the historic Jesse Lee Meeting House.
