Local Vegetable Harvest Swap
Sharing fresh vegetables from our gardens with our community means people have access to much healthier produce. Several parishioners are interested in organizing a vegetable harvest swap this summer. This is still in the planning stage, but we’re looking at July – August, and perhaps having the Veggie Swap following worship in Sunday. Touch base with Kristen Gottlieb, Claire Piddock, Gail Waddell, or Pastor Desi to learn more. Stay tuned!
Summer Yard Sale—2015
July 17 & 18---9 am – 1 pm (rain or shine)
As you do your spring cleaning—please consider items that could be donated to our annual yard sale. A wide variety of items make this a very successful event. No electronics, no clothing or shoes. Items can be brought to the church the week of July 13, or call Brenda Davenport 293-2151 if you need items to be picked up.
The supper team has room for growth. We meet 4 or 5 times during the season—to plan our menus and divide up the needed tasks for each meal. To learn more—call Brenda Davenport 293-2151. The work crew for each supper has many opportunities for volunteers. Since the tasks take place at different times, someone doesn’t have to stay for the entire time. Before the meal, tables are already arranged, so we need people to come and set out the silverware, salt & pepper, sugar bowls, etc. We need someone to fill water pitchers with ice and water, make cold beverages, etc. During the meal, we need someone to pour beverages, keep the hot dishes, salads and desserts replenished, begin the dish washing. Following the meal, we need help with clean up.
Our summer suppers have become very popular with our local community. People recognize us when we are out and about. We are often asked-- when our suppers will begin again.
